The Work Truck Week 2025 event, held from March 4-7, brought together thousands of industry leaders, manufacturers, and fleet managers for a comprehensive showcase of the latest innovations and trends in the commercial vehicle sector. As a sponsor and exhibitor, Commercial Truck Trader had the opportunity to connect with key players in the industry, explore emerging technologies, and participate in the buzz surrounding one of North America’s largest work truck events.

Work Truck Week is hosted by the NTEA – The Work Truck Association™, which represents over 2,000 companies involved in manufacturing, distributing, selling, installing, and repairing commercial vehicles, truck bodies, and equipment. The Association provides valuable resources, including in-depth technical information, educational programs, and services to its members. Notably, NTEA also produces two major events: Work Truck Week and the Green Truck Summit, both of which were key highlights of this year’s event.

One exciting announcement from NTEA was the release of the 18th edition of the Truck Equipment Handbook. This pocket guide is a go-to reference for professionals working with commercial vehicle components and equipment. The comprehensive resource helps both seasoned industry veterans and newcomers navigate the technical aspects of the commercial vehicle market, providing vital insights for anyone involved in the buying, selling, and servicing of work trucks.

The Shyft Group Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation

This year’s event marked a milestone for The Shyft Group, Inc., which celebrated its 50th anniversary at Work Truck Week 2025. Since 1975, Shyft has been at the forefront of work truck innovation, delivering solutions that prioritize performance, durability, and sustainability. Their purpose-built fleet solutions continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of their customers, and this year’s showcase highlighted their ongoing commitment to engineering excellence.

As one of the leading players in the work truck industry, Shyft demonstrated how their next-generation fleet solutions maximize uptime, enhance safety, and improve operational efficiency. From cutting-edge products to sustainable innovations, Shyft’s presence at Work Truck Week 2025 reminded everyone why they continue to be an industry leader.

Ram and GMC Showcase Upcoming Models

As expected, Ram and GMC were key players in the show, sharing updates on their chassis and products for the upcoming model years. Both manufacturers unveiled exciting new features and innovations that are set to transform the work truck sector. Their focus on performance, reliability, and sustainability was evident in the range of models and components they showcased.

For fleet managers and buyers, this was an important opportunity to see firsthand the advancements that these manufacturers are making, and how they can support fleet operations with increasingly advanced and durable trucks. Attendees were able to speak directly with industry experts and get a closer look at how these vehicles will perform in real-world applications.

Ride & Drive: A Fleet Manager’s Dream

One of the most anticipated events at Work Truck Week was the Ride & Drive event, which provided fleet managers with the rare opportunity to test a wide variety of vehicles from multiple manufacturers all in one location. Instead of arranging individual test drives with different companies, attendees were able to compare models, examine key features, and experience the performance of various work trucks.

This event is particularly valuable for those in fleet management, as it allowed them to make more informed decisions about their fleet purchases and better understand the latest trends in truck innovation.

Delta Air Lines’ Electric Fleet Electrifies the Show

Sustainability was a major theme throughout Work Truck Week, and one of the most unique contributions came from Delta Air Lines. The airline has been committed to reducing its carbon footprint, and its fleet electrification journey took a significant step forward at Work Truck Week 2025. Delta unveiled its new International eMV catering truck, which is the first electric vehicle of its kind in North America.

This truck is part of Delta’s broader sustainability goals, which include the development of zero-emission airplanes (though those may still be a few years away). The eMV catering truck is used to deliver meals to aircraft at Boston Logan International Airport, and it serves as a pilot project for Delta’s larger vision of transitioning its ground fleet to electric power.

Green Truck Summit: The Future of Sustainable Fleet Solutions

Another major highlight of the event was the Green Truck Summit, where leaders in sustainability gathered to discuss the future of green technology in the work truck sector. From electric vehicle advancements to alternative fuel solutions, the summit provided critical insights into the evolving landscape of fleet sustainability.

Work Truck Week 2025 proved that the commercial vehicle industry is serious about integrating greener solutions and reducing the environmental impact of fleet operations. Attendees walked away with a deeper understanding of how to take action in their own businesses, whether by adopting electric trucks, exploring hybrid solutions, or considering other environmentally friendly fleet options.

Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead

As with any major industry event, Work Truck Week 2025 was an opportunity for networking, learning, and discovering new products and services. But the key to maximizing the benefits of attending the show is following up with the contacts you made. Whether it’s connecting with a supplier, engaging with a new business partner, or continuing a conversation with an exhibitor, following up is crucial to building long-lasting relationships in the industry.
